Rashida Leah Jones was born 25th February 1976 in Los Angeles, California. Though best known for her portrayal of
Karen Filipelli on NBC's
'The Office', Rashida has built an impressive and versatile
body of work in her 10 year career, including appearances in Steven Soderbergh's
'Full Frontal', Comedy Central's
Chappelle's Show and David E. Kelly's
Boston Public. Rashida is currently starring in Fox's
'Unhitched'. Rashida has been active in the performing arts since childhood, performing piano concertos since the age of five. She received her education at
The Buckley School and read religion and philosophy at
Harvard University. Whilst at college Rashida began acting and she performed in several plays. She honed her dramatic skills with
Hasty Pudding, the oldest theatre company in America, and served as musical director of it's annual ceremony before graduating in 1997. Rashida is the youngest daughter of actress
Peggy Lipton from her marriage to media mogul
Quincy Jones. She has six sisters and a brother. She shares her time between New York and Los Angeles.In her free time, Rashida is passionate about her favorite charity
Peace Games. Her hobbies included para-sailing, skydiving, hiking and writing. She's also loves playing
Boggle.
